A 20 años del lanzamiento de la iniciativa mundial de Educación para Todos (Jomtien-Tailandia, 1990), a 10 años de la aprobación de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio (ODM) y a punto de aprobarse un nuevo conjunto de metas educativas - las Metas2021 - en el Congreso Iberoamericano de Educación convocado por la OEI (Buenos Aires, 13-15 sep. 2010), decidimos organizar el II Encuentro Presencial de Firmantes del Pronunciamiento Latinoamericano por una Educacion para Todos (el primer encuentro lo hicimos en Porto Alegre en 2001) y el I Encuentro Presencial de miembros de Comunidad Educativa, la comunidad virtual de firmantes. El encuentro se realizó en Buenos Aires (8-11 sep. 2010), previo al Congreso Iberoamericano, y concluyó con la redacción y aprobación del II Pronunciamiento Latinoamericano, a diez años de distancia del que preparáramos en ocasión del Foro Mundial de Educación (Dakar, abril 2000). El documento (disponible en español y portugués por ahora) está siendo circulado para difusión y adhesiones a nivel internacional. Twenty years after the launch of the Education for All world initiative (Jomtien-Thailand, 1990), ten years after the adoption of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), and prior to the adoption of a new set of education goals for the region - Metas2021 organized by the Organization of IberoAmerican States (OEI) - we decided to organize the II Encounter of signatories of the Latin American Statement for Education for All (the first encounter was held in Porto Alegre-Brazil, in 2001) and the I Face-to-Face Encounter of Comunidad E-ducativa, the virtual community of signatories. The event was held in Buenos Aires (Sep. 8-11, 2010), prior to the Iberoamerican Congress for Educación (also held in Buenos Aires, 13-15 sep. 2010). We concluded with a II Latin American Statement, ten years after the one we prepared on the occasion of the World Education Forum (Dakar, April 2000). The new document (available so far only in Spanish and Portuguese) is being circulated internationally for information and signatures.
